Since Jane accepted the position of President and CEO in 2008, FSA has grown from a small collaborative of Quaker retirement communities into an organization that is nationally known and respected as a leader in the aging services sector. Her tenure has marked an era of strengthening nonprofit boards nationwide through customized support and resources; the expansion of a successful compliance program that spans 17 states; the creation of programming aimed at developing future industry leaders; and the evolution of a robust diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging effort. Jane has led these efforts all while upholding a deep commitment to Quaker values, infusing them into FSA’s approach to working with its member organizations and impacting our communities with thoughtful sessions on decision making, transparency and more.
Jane has established a solid foundation for the future of FSA, and while identifying her successor will take much consideration, the FSA Board of Directors is prepared for the task. FSA has an up-to-date Succession Plan in place and a committee has been appointed to begin the work of implementation. We will continue to keep you informed as to next steps.
As many of you know, Jane and her husband, Charles, moved to Centre Hall, PA, a few years ago to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In her retirement, Jane looks forward to spending more time with them, and traveling as well.
As she transitions out of her role in the coming months, the Board and I would like to express our gratitude for Jane’s unwavering commitment to leading with integrity and clarity, her passion and drive to turn possibilities into realities, and her friendship and positive impact on our organizations through the years.
Sincerely,
Linda Sterthous
Chair, Board of Directors
