FSA/MHS Association Merger Update

Dear FSA Membership,
I am excited to report that, at their respective annual meetings in March, the memberships of both FSA and MHS Association voiced their support for the merger of our two organizations. This is an exciting milestone, and I am eager to share the next steps in the process with you.
The boards of both FSA and MHS will continue to function separately through the end of 2025 until the merger has been legally approved and all merger documents are signed, with an anticipated effective date of January 1, 2026. On the effective date of the merger, a new combined board will be installed with equal representation from FSA and MHS member organizations. In the meantime, those individuals expected to serve on the new entity’s board will form an advisory task force to work on the legal and technical details of the merger.
FSA’s CEO, Jane Mack, has retired. As of April 1, 2025, Robin Somers has taken on the role of interim CEO for FSA. Robin will serve in this capacity until July 1, at which point FSA will enter into a management agreement with MHS Association. Karen Lehman will function as CEO of both organizations at that time.
Also in April, we plan to submit written notice of the proposed merger to the PA Office of Attorney General (OAG). Review and approval by the OAG could take up to 90 days.
We anticipate that the name of the newly merged organization will be decided this summer. A branding task force has been hard at work to move this process forward, which includes not just the name, but various other aspects to building the identity of a new organization.
As we continue to make progress, we look forward to keeping you informed. Many thanks for your continued support during this transformative time. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.
Sincerely,
Linda Sterthous
Chair, FSA Board of Directors
