FSA is committed to seeking understanding and fostering conversation about diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) from a perspective anchored in values. To assist our members with DEI initiatives within their organizations, we offer the facilitation services, workshops, training and peer groups. Explore our DEI educational resources and trainings.
The FSA Internship Program is a fantastic opportunity to introduce young adults to the possibilities of working in the senior living field. Sponsored jointly with Friends Foundation for the Aging, this program provides 8-10 week experiences for college students to live and work in a Life Plan Community/CCRC and gain experience and exposure to this industry. We work closely with several universities to place motivated students in these spots. Interns have worked in a number of different departments, including Administration, Human Resources, Social Work and Food Service.
2024 marks the 13th summer for the program; we have placed nearly 60 interns in FSA member locations nationwide.
Since 2013, emerging and new senior leaders have participated in the FSA Leadership Institute to deepen their understanding of leading in a Quaker-affiliated organization. This unique, in-depth experiential learning opportunity is designed to give leaders ways of thinking and practicing that are congruent with Quaker values. Read more.
