Diversity & Inclusion Training
Guide to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and More
In order to create an environment of inclusion, we must start with the basics. First, we will define diversity, equity, inclusion and more and talk about what they look like from the viewpoint of management within your organizations. This will support the development of a diversity strategy to affect change, and to ensure your team moves forward toward a common goal. You’ll walk away with beginning thoughts toward actions--to build your own framework for inclusivity and diversity as a manager on your team.
Guide to Unconscious Bias
We will define “unconscious bias” and identify the biases we all have. By paying attention to bias and using mindfulness techniques to not act on the biases we all have, we can contribute to a shift, both in our personal and work environments. We will also explore ways to manage the biases of others.
How to Create a Space for Brave Conversations
Learn strategies for navigating difficult conversations in the workplace. We’ll explore how to create a brave space for people to have conversations in the workplace and ways to develop trust in communications. Topics for discussion include: empathic listening, power dynamics, impact versus intent and more.
Intercultural Development Inventory® Assessment
New in 2020 is the Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI) Assessment workshop that offers the opportunity for discovering one’s mindset/skillset towards cultural difference and commonality. Individuals take the IDI assessment to identify their own intercultural competence, which is the capability to shift perspective and adapt behavior to cultural difference and commonality. Following the assessment is a one-on-one meeting with FSA’s educator to review a participant’s IDI profile and individual action plan to achieve diversity and inclusion goals, both inside and outside of work. The IDI profile can be done on a group and/or individual level.
Ouch! That Stereotype Hurts
The program focuses on stereotypical comments and actions, explores why people don't speak up against stereotypes and other biased behaviors, and reviews techniques for speaking up against them.
Participants will:
- Understand the impact of stereotypes and biased statements.
- Identify the most common reasons people sit silent in the face of bias and stereotypes.
- Enhance skills for speaking up against stereotypes without blame or guilt.
The program can be tailored for your organization.
Facilitated Conversation on Race
A facilitated gathering during which staff or residents reflect about the topics of race, diversity and inclusion. Currently held virtually, a Community Gathering is a safe space for meaningful dialogue about race in America through the lens of our values.
When Cultures Meet | Virtual Workshop
A two-hour virtual workshop designed to reflect on the nature of cultural dynamics in organizations. This is an upbeat, fast-paced way of getting into sensitive topics affecting every organization. A non-punitive program, WCM doesn't assume that anyone is right or wrong. Rather, this workshop demonstrates that there are certain predictable dynamics that are set in motion by cultural difference and gives participants a greater appreciation for cultural difference with insight into the ways in which differences add to organizational effectiveness. This workshop is also available as a 3-5 hour in-person workshop.
Facilitation Services & Individual Coaching
We can design and facilitate customized experiences based on your organizations current needs and desired outcomes. Individual coaching services are also available to meet personal leadership development needs around diversity and inclusion.
